The assistant

Monark has a built-in AI assistant that lives one tap away and can both answer questions about your data and make changes for you ; always with your say-so.

The assistant only appears when your organization has turned it on. If you don't see the ✨ icon, it isn't enabled for you yet.

Opening it

  • Click the ✨ icon in the top bar (it's there on every page), or
  • Press Ctrl / ⌘ + J.

A panel slides in from the right. It stays out of the way ; you can keep clicking around the app while it's open. On a phone it opens full-screen; close it with the X or the back arrow.

Conversations

The first screen lists your conversations. Tap New chat (the ➕ in the panel header) to start a fresh one, or pick an existing conversation to continue it. Use the back arrow to return to the list.

Chatting

Type in the box at the bottom and press Enter (Shift+Enter for a new line). The assistant knows which page you're on, so you can say things like "add a task here" or "what's in this list?" and it understands the context.

It can:

  • Answer questions about your data : "how many open records are in Projects?"
  • Take actions : "create a task called Follow up", "update this record's status to Done".

Confirming changes

The assistant will never change anything without asking. When it wants to create, update, or delete something, it shows a small card describing the action with Confirm and Reject buttons. Nothing happens until you press Confirm. Read-only lookups (just reading your data) run on their own.

You're always in control, and the assistant can only ever see or change what you are allowed to : it acts with your own permissions, nothing more.

Good to know

  • Replies stream in as they're written (after a brief "Thinking…" moment).
  • Your conversations are private to you.
  • If the assistant says it can't do something, it's usually because you don't have permission for that action, or the data isn't there.
